Wedding Weather Obsession

Wedding Weather Woes
February 14, 2018

We’ve all been there – I’ve been there! Pure obsession over the weather forecast from the 30-day out random forecast that’s about as good as throwing a dart at a variety of weather conditions.

As a bride and meteorologist, I should’ve known better. Those computer models called to me and I looked out at that 384th hour of the American model and freaked out. RAIN – no rain for our outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour Columbus Day Weekend of 2015. Thankfully the rain came on Friday, we dried out Saturday and the sun came out during the ceremony Sunday afternoon of our wedding. Temperatures were in the 50’s which felt great for us Mainers, a little chilly for the New Jersey folks that traveled north for the big day.

Not all weddings are so lucky, and when we’re trying to finish those last minute details, watching the weather forecast is not in the cards. Cue…

…WhiteGold Wedding Forecasts…

WhiteGold Wedding Forecasts is a one-of-a-kind service – not offered anywhere else in the country – specializing in customized, precision wedding weather forecasts. We focus in on your location(s) and provide forecasts up to 10 days out, narrowing down those details as we get closer. These forecasts can have a private login to share with your guests, and even travel forecasts for those coming from out of town. As with many spring and summer evenings, pop-up showers and storms are possible, and we can help you with that as well. On top of the forecasting, we offer radar monitoring to track those pesky storms, and have a point of contact that will be notified if/when inclement weather is imminent. All of these services are customized for your Big Day, when accuracy matters most.

Many end up asking – why the name WhiteGold? For those who don’t know me personally, I absolutely love snow. Many of my winter clients are ski areas, and one of our “fancy” nicknames for snow is white gold. It happened to flow right into the wedding world, so there it was born.
